	One of the best published resources on this topic is Betsy Hearne's Beauty and the Beast: Visions and Revisions of an Old Tale. She exhaustively investigates the history and the meaning behind the tale. Unfortunately, this title is out of print. Amazon says they can find it for you, though.
	From the Beast to the Blonde: On Fairy Tales and Their Tellers, by Marina Warner. This book is an in-depth examination of several fairy tales, including Beauty and the Beast. It's recent enough to include a critique on Disney's version. A fascinating and very informative book, although certain sections are occasionally obscure and convoluted.
