There's no copyright date on this book, so I can't
really be sure how old it is. There is an inscription in the front that
reads "A Christmas present to Selma Johnson from your brother Thomas
Johnson, December 24th, 1903." At any rate, it's a really old book.
It's interesting to note that the illustrations used here are the some
ones from Andrew Lang's Blue Fairy Book--obviously
they weren't concerned about copyright infringement! I tried to make
the scans lighter in color, because the paper is very darkened by age.
