Other Stage Versions
There have been several stage versions of the fairy
tale over the past few centuries. I have managed to find paper versions
of the following plays, and will be transcribing them into HTML as quickly
as I can.

Beauty and the Monster
(1785), by Comtesse de Genlis. Modern readers may have difficulty
understanding parts of this play, but it's certainly a different
read for those willing to invest the time. Not much action, but
contains an interesting window into the entertainment of two centuries
past. |

a recent musical production that has played in Brussels, and the
company plans to take the musical to Paris and Canada. The site
